This article goes over some of the frequently asked questions regarding the sunsetting of NextThought's LMS platform. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
Is there another LMS you can recommend?
NextThought is already working with a great LMS partner for you to consider. They are familiar with our platform, its data and functionality and will be able to assist with migration. More information will be coming on this very soon in a separate communication.
How do I export a list of users on my site?
You can download a CSV report from the People tab in the Admin Panel to gather this information. There are details in this article that will walk you through the process.
How do I migrate user accounts from NextThought to my new LMS?
We recommend exporting your user information from NextThought and consulting with your new LMS provider.
How do I get my course content out of NextThought?
You can get an archive of each course by exporting the course. There are instructions in this article that will walk you through the course export process. The archive is downloaded as a zip file containing the content and configuration of your course. For more detailed information about the specs that are included in the zip file read through this document.
How can I save a record of the courses my users have completed?
The all course roster report will provide a list of all your courses, the users enrolled, and their completion status. You can refer to this help article for information on how to access the report.
How long will the NextThought LMS platform be accessible for?
Your NextThought LMS will be available until your current contract expires or June 30th, 2022 whichever comes first. If your current contract expires before June 30th, 2022 you can renew on a month-to-month basis through June 30th, 2022 if you so desire. You can contact our Sales team for more information.
Can my LMS url/domain be redirected to my new LMS?
If your LMS is hosted on a subdomain of nextthought.io we are happy to enable a 302 redirect through the end of 2022. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, include your name, your site’s current domain name, and the desired url you wish users to be redirected to.
How long will you retain my data?
For privacy and security reasons we will delete the data related to your LMS accounts after the sunset date of June 30th, 2022. Please ensure that you have downloaded and stored any data you wish to have preserved after that date.
What if my annual contract expires before June?
If you are on an annual contract that expires before June 30th, 2022 and you would like to extend your use to that date, please reach out to email@example.com. We can provide you with a monthly prorated license to extend the availability of your LMS.
What if I’m on a monthly contract?
Your monthly contact will be canceled effective June 30th, 2022 or whenever you cancel before that. Your final June invoice will be prorated based on your billing cycle to cover the partial billing period. For example, if your monthly billing cycle begins on the 15th, your final invoice will be prorated to cover the period June 15th, 2022 - June 30th, 2022. If you are on a monthly plan and wish to cancel sooner please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We are happy to terminate your license at the end of your current billing cycle.
